Adinam Jogidah of Maheshpur upazila situated on the bank of Kopatek Later in 1107, the temple of Maheshpur Thakur, Hindu god, was established as the Adinam, and was converted to Maheshpur. Some say that the name of the area is named Maheshpur in the name of King Mahesh Chandra. Another legend is that when the kingdom was ruled by a king in a fisherman, Maheshpur was named after his son "Mahesh". Maheshpur was one of the main parts of India's Bandgaon subdivision. In 1947, Maheshpur Jhenaidah was a subdivision. Maheshpur is called a food shop or a jeweler.
